Newsday writer nails the Mets

Newsday writer Wallace Matthews has written one of the best pieces I've read about the Mets in a long time. Here's a sample:
"The Wilpons and Minaya have let down this team and this town, not by not spending enough money, but by wasting the money they did spend."

After yesterday's loss to the Yankees, I've come to the conclusion that this is going to be a loooooooong season.

If anything positive happened in the Mets system, it was that Ike Davis continues to hit well in Double-A. Yesterday, he went 2-4. His two doubles upped his average to .438. Unfortunately, teammate Brad Holt couldn't make it through the first inning. Who's teaching the Mets minor leaguers how to pitch?
