Johan Santana lost another game yesterday because the Met hitters took a day off at the plate. They managed just four hits off three Tampa pitchers, including no hits off ex-Met Dan Wheeler. To worsen matters, Bobby Parnell's struggles continue. He faced two batters. One walked, the other singled. Is he suffering from arm fatigue?
Brooklyn and Binghamton were rained out. St. Lucie didn't play. Savannah lost. The lone bright spot: Buffalo. Fernando Martinez got two hits including a double, and Jon Niese shut out Charlotte for seven innings, giving up six hits and a walk while striking out eight. In his last three starts he's limited the opposition to two earned runs and five hits. Maybe Niese is finally figuring out how to win in Triple-A.
