Mulvey wins!

Mulvey won, upping his record to 8-8. During his six frames Portland was able to scratch out only six hits. The two runs that Mulvey yielded lowered his ERA to 3.12. Portland scored in the first on Bubba Bell's homer and in the fifth on three consecutive singles.

The Binghamton ace now ranks sixth in ERA and eighth in wins in the Eastern League.

Carlos Muniz pitched the last inning, picking up his 20th save. One inning, no runs, no hits, no walks, one strikeout. The 26 year old righty lowered his ERA to 2.30.

Brooklyn lost, but 20 year old starter Nicholas Carr held Williamsport to five hits and a run in 5.2 innings.

The Sand Gnats won, 5-0. Twenty three year old Jonathan Castillo hurled seven innings of shutout ball, giving up four singles, two to Augusta's lead-off hitter.

Kingsport lost, as did the Zephyrs.
