The Bisons seem buffaloed

The Buffalo Bisons remain a mystery to me. It's a team stocked with players past their prime and a few prospects, most of whom have struggled to succeed in Triple-A. Last night, in another of their now-meaningless games, which the Bisons suprisingly won, 2-1, the club sent pitcher Brandon Knight to the plate in the seventh to pinch-hit for Nelson Figueroa. Knight struck out swinging.

Is the Bisons' depth so minimal that no position player was available to pinch-hit?

The baseball draft begins tonight; however, the Mets don't draft until the 72nd pick as they lost their first-round pick when they signed Francisco Rodriguez.

After noting the performance of several of the Mets past top picks, such as Ike Davis and Eddie Kunz, I'm not that optimistic that Minaya's top pick this year will make it to the Big Club anytime soon.
