Two Mets make it to the ninth; Both win

These days it's unusual for a pitcher to reach the ninth inning, let alone finish a game. Yesterday, two different pitchers in the Mets organization did that. John Maine reached the ninth inning, and though he was unable to record any outs in it, he won the game, picking up his ninth victory. And down in Triple-A, the Zephyrs Brian Lawrence limited Omaha to one run and six hits. The last time a Zephyr pitched a complete game was in 2004. It was the 31 year old Lawrence's fifth win in seven decisions.
