Mets Draftee Spending Far from the Top

When it came to spending money on June draft choices this year, the Mets ranked 20th out of 30 teams, spending only $4,721,200. Is it because the Wilpons are really having financial problems? Or because of all the money the team's wasted on players such as Perez and Castillo?

If you look at how much money the Mets have spent over the past three years on June draftees, their ranking drops even lower.

It's time for the Mets to stop overspending to get other team's players and to increase significantly how much they're willing to pay for high school and college players. If they do that, the team's future could become much brighter.
