Bison season starts tomorrow

Tomorrow, the season begins for the Mets Triple-A affiliate, the Buffalo Bisons. They will be playing the Pawtucket Red Sox in the Bisons' new ballpark, Coca-Cola Field.

Taking the mound for the Bisons will be Jonathon Niese. Niese relies on three pitches to get batters out: his fastball, change-up, and curveball. Rounding out the Bisons' starting rotation are Dillon Gee, Nelson Figueroa, Casey Fossum, and Brandon Knight. In the bullpen are Eddie Kunz, Carlos Muniz, Jon Switzer, Connor Robertson, Kyle Snyder, Ken Takahashi, and Elmer Dessens.

The team's outfielders include Bobby Kielty, Cory Sullivan, and Fernando Martinez, who'll DH until his right arm heals. Vying for the infield spots are Rob Mackowiak, Jose Coronado, Argenis Reyes, Jonathan Malo, Michel Abreu, and Nick Evans, who's no longer listed on the Mets' active roster.

The catchers include Robinson Cancel and Angelo Encarnacion.

On paper, it looks like a good team. Hopefully, they'll perform on the field as well as they appear on paper.

Tonight, the Mets Double-A affiliate, the Binghamton Mets, opens their season in Trenton against the Thunder.
