Looks like Michael Olmstead finally signed with the Mets though I didn't see any announcement about it by the Big Club. I was checking out how their minor league teams did and took a look at the GCL Mets box score for their last game, yesterday. The GCL Mets second pitcher was none other than Michael Olmstead. He pitched an inning, gave up a hit and a walk but no runs, and struck out the side. When I checked his GCL bio, I noticed that he's 6'6" and 245 pounds. Linebacker size.
Baseball America's 2007 Draft Database still doesn't have him listed as signing. The Mets selected Olmstead in the ninth round this year.
