The Cyclones have two of the top four hitters in New-York Penn League. Daniel Muno is second, hitting .372, and Richard Lucas is fourth, hitting .356. Muno's OPS of 1.029 is also second-best.
In 2010 the Cyclones had the league's top hitter: Darrell Ceciliani hit .351. It also had its fifth-best batter in Joe Bonfe who hit .326.

Brooklyn's Lucas Has Career Day
Yesterday, Richard Lucas had a career day for a baseball player. In six at bats, the third baseman had five hits, upping his average to .357. Interestingly, baseballamerica.com does not include Lucas in its list of the Mets Top 10 Prospects nor does minorleagueball.com mention him in their list of the Mets Top 20 Prospects. One reason might be because the 22-year-old only hit .212 in 2010 with St. Lucie. Though he hit 12 homers, his slugging average was only .339.
Maybe now, in his second stint with the Cyclones, Lucas is discovering what he needs to do to succeed in the Mets farm system.
