Perez won't throw any more pitches for Mexico

Thanks to Cuba, Mets fans don't have to worry about Oliver Perez throwing any more pitches for Mexico in the WBC. By beating Mexico yesterday, 7-4, Cuba eliminated Mexico from the WBC, so now Perez can return to the Mets. However, that's no guarantee he'll start pitching better this Spring.

Only two Mets are among the WBC's hitting leaders: Carlos Beltran, playing for Puerto Rican team, is batting .500, and Carlos Delgado, on the same WBC team, is hitting .462.

David Wright is hitting .263 for the USA team.

Pudge Rodriquez, whom Minaya refused to sign, is hitting .526.
