Cordero Has a Career Game

A catcher who hasn't garnered much attention has caught mine. In his fourth season with the Mets organization, he currently plays for the Savannah Sand Gnats. He's demonstrated some proficiency with the bat; however, he hadn't shown much power until last season when he hit eight homers playing for Kingsport.

His name is Albert Cordero.

What caught my attention was his performance in yesterday's game. He went 5 for 5, scored four runs, drove in two, and had two doubles and a triple, accumulating nine total bases. Nine! He's now hitting .250.

Another plus: He's only 21.
