Is Flores "Wasting His Time" at Shortstop?

In a Baseball America article, Ben Badler wrote that Wilmer "Flores is a two-tool guy (hit and throw) who's wasting his time pretending to be a shortstop." In his four minor league seasons, Wilmer has made 77 errors at shortstop with a fielding percentage of .959.

In a New York Times article published in 2009, Ben Shpigel wrote that "the Mets will not consider changing his position until he is almost ready to reach the majors"; however, that was when Minaya was GM. Hopefully, the Mets current GM, Sandy Alderson, will shift Flores' position before "he is almost ready to reach the majors," possibly to a corner outfield position.
