Manuel's premature announcement

Before even playing their first Spring training game, Mets manager Jerry Manuel has announced that Ryan Church will platoon in right field with Fernando Tatis. What's Manuel thinking? Before Church got injured last season, he was one of the team's best players. The basis for his losing his starting job should be his 2009 Spring training performance, not his performance during the second half of last season, especially since the Mets botched treatment of his injuries.
