What's Minaya thinking?

It seems that the Mets have decided to give Duaner Sanchez a new one-year agreement, also doubling his salary (from $950,000 to $1,687,500). In 2008 Sanchez appeared in relief 66 times; his ERA was 4.32, nothing special. But from August 15 on, Sanchez was a disaster. In just 8 1/3 innings he surrendered eight runs and an unlucky 13 hits, but that's not surprising given that the batters he faced hit .342 against him.

If Minaya considers those statistics worthy of a hefty raise, I'd love to work for the Mets.
